Where are the days going? Before we know it we will be putting away our sweaters and socks and digging out the tees and jandals.
It’s the perfect time of year for us to take over the park. We have been busy waterblasting, planting & scrubbing in preparation for our first summer season. The limes, lemons and oranges I have planted will hopefully be ready in time for your gin & tonics. The visitors we have welcomed so far have been very complimentary of our facilities and we have already implemented some of their suggestions i.e. shower mats, new bedding in the cabins. These holidays you will recieve a very small survey on the parks facilities when you check in. Please take 2 minutes to fill this in so we can ensure we are giving you the best service delivery we can.
My project at the moment is a re-vamp of the function centre including new curtains. Already this week we have recieved two enquiries regarding holding a wedding reception in this facility so I think a makeover is in order.
We are fortunate to have great support from the locals with what we are trying to do around the park. Work is moving along on the remodelling of the old Log Cabin; instigated by the Ashley Gorge Reserve Advisory Group. The old walls, roof and floor have been taken down and the stone wall is all that remains. We have started the fundraising and have had offers of help to supply some of the materials and do design work.
The path from the shop to the reserve has been reinstated, so people can walk safely down to the reserve without having to use the road. We have had a cycle track laid though the bush at the edge of the river to give the littlies and not so littlies a different place to ride their bikes. Also the new walking track on the otherside of the bridge is hoped to be finished by summer this year.
Kind Regards
Sally & Wayne Schist
